Drummer JEROME DILLON Is No Longer A Member Of NINE INCH NAILS

October 30, 2005

NINE INCH NAILS have officially parted ways with drummer Jerome Dillon.

Dillon's ongoing health concerns forced the band to postpone two of their current tour's gigs last month; he dropped off the run following an October 1 performance in Los Angeles, reportedly to seek treatment for an unspecified heart condition. The group have since named Australian Alex Carapetis to the post.

In an October 28, 2005 online posting, Dillon wrote, "October 1, 2005 at the Hollywood Bowl was the last show that I will play with NINE INCH NAILS.

"Contrary to many published reports in the music press, I want to make it clear that my departure from the band has absolutely NOTHING to do with my health. I've learned much about myself and those around me (particularly in the last month) and it's brought about many positive changes. My association with the organization has opened many doors — I'm grateful and I'm ready to move on.

"Although I appreciate the concern, I am not sick or recuperating. I feel great (physically and otherwise) and am playing the best drums of my life right now."

NINE INCH NAILS are currently touring North America with QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, with dates scheduled through November 20. A South American run will take place in late November.
